For too long, Cabo Verdean history, language, and culture have been underrepresented in academic institutions and public discourse. At CVCAR, we are working to change that. By bringing together scholars, students, community members, and institutions, we are building an epistemological community — a shared space of knowledge production and exchange dedicated entirely to Cabo Verdean studies. This work matters not only for those of us with roots in the archipelago, but for anyone committed to a more complete and inclusive understanding of Atlantic history, creole cultures, and the African diaspora.
