Language
Kriolu — the Cabo Verdean creole language — is at the heart of our linguistic research. We study its origins, evolution, regional variations, and its role as a marker of cultural identity, alongside the broader multilingual landscape of Cabo Verde.

Cabo Verdeans have built communities across four continents. Our research examines the experiences, contributions, and challenges of the Cabo Verdean diaspora — exploring how identity, belonging, and connection to the homeland are maintained across generations and borders.
Inter- and Trans-disciplinary Approach
Our research methodology embraces interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary frameworks, bringing together scholars from linguistics, anthropology, history, sociology, education, and other fields to create comprehensive and nuanced understanding of Cabo Verdean experiences.
